Plagiarism Policy
Advanced Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Letters is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works of the authors and must not contain plagiarism in any form.
The journal defines plagiarism as the use of another person’s ideas, words, data, figures, tables, or intellectual property without proper acknowledgment or permission. This includes direct copying, paraphrasing without citation, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate reuse of previously published material.
All submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism screening using recognized plagiarism detection software (we routinely use Turnitin software) before peer review and at any stage of the editorial process. Manuscripts found to contain significant similarity, unattributed content, falsified citations, or unethical overlap with previously published works will be rejected immediately. Authors should use software to test the similarity of their works before submission. Generally, the similarity score of the manuscript should not exceed 18% (excluding bibliography), with no single source exceeding 5%.
Authors are expected to:
- Properly cite and reference all sources used in the manuscript;
- Obtain permission for copyrighted materials where necessary;
- Ensure that the submitted work is original and has not been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere;
- Avoid redundant or duplicate publication.
Where plagiarism is detected after publication, the journal reserves the right to take appropriate actions, including:
- Publication of corrections or retractions;
- Notification of the authors’ institutions or funding bodies;
- Temporary or permanent restriction of future submissions from the authors involved.
The journal's editorial decisions regarding plagiarism and publication ethics are guided by internationally accepted ethical standards and best practices in scholarly publishing.
